2023 Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program Now Open!

The Virginia Department of Forestry is now accepting applications for the Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) Grant Program! This program encourages projects that promote the protection and enhancement of urban and community forest ecosystems, tree planting, the care of trees, and education on tree issues in cities, towns, counties, and tribes.  The Request for Applications (RFA) and application user guide can be found at their website page.

Project categories for funding include: Support for Local Government Programs, Tree Maintenance and Invasive Plant Removal, Workforce Development Programs, Demonstration Projects, Extreme Heat Mitigation, Non-Profit Organization Support, Planning and Education and more. The dealine for applications is 9 p.m. EDT, November 3, 2023.
